A guide to the traditional Italian Espresso Macchiato, a simple drink made with a shot of espresso 'marked' with a small dollop of steamed milk foam.
Ingredients
- 1 shot of espresso
- 1-2 oz of cold milk
Instructions
- Step 1: Pull the Espresso - Brew a fresh shot of espresso into a demitasse cup.
- Step 2: Steam the Milk - Steam a small amount of milk, creating a thick, rich foam.
- Step 3: Mark the Espresso - Add just a small dollop (about a teaspoon) of the milk foam to the center of the espresso. Serve immediately.
